Keep the container appropriate.
Store coffee in an opaque, airtight container in a cool, dark place. Protect the coffee from unnecessary exposure rather than keeping an open bag next to the brewer.
Choose a workable quantity.
Estimate how much coffee you use and compare that with the bag or case size. A larger pack is not automatically better value when it does not suit your use.
Grind close to brewing.
When buying whole beans and using a grinder, grind close to brewing. If using pre-ground coffee, specify the brewer and store the coffee carefully between uses.
Retain the product details.
Keep the roaster or supplier information and dates provided with the product. Ask for product-specific guidance instead of relying on a universal freshness guarantee.
